“The People’s Airline” started its operation April 4, 1995. It is The Philippines' only airline cooperative. Aptly called Airline Employees Cooperative, its 36 founding members own and run the company. Asian Spirit is a domestic passenger airline with the mission to operate scheduled services to tourist destinations and secondary and tertiary airports where other airlines don't dare to operate.

It has a total of 10 aircrafts. Most of them specially designed for short take-off and landing. The airlines has two CN 235-220 (40 seater, manufacturer IPTN Indonesia), two DASH 7 (47 seater, manufacturer DeHavilland Canada), four Let 410 (19 seater, designed in former Czechoslovakia) and 2 twin engine turbo prop YS-11 A (60 seater).
